At the request of the client „Pilana Vrata d.o.o." the overhauled system for making glued laminated timber was put into operation again. The system was previously controlled by a Siemens S5 PLC and a control panel, however the client did not have that panel.

 

With the available documentation and an overview of the system, the necessary elements for the creation of a new control panel with an operator panel and communication to the PLC with BCD coding have been identified. A simulation of the whole process of making glued laminated timber was made due to the impossibility of connecting to the old Siemens S5 PLC in order to be able to create the necessary sequences for the proper operation of the system. After creating the program and a new control panel, the system was successfully put into operation.
